IF-2

another one of my favorites in the IF series
[IF]

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

--Rudyard Kipling

If ...the most powerful two letter word
practice makes a man perfect...women are simply born perfect ;)

nice repartee ;) my work ofcourse :P, though im not sure if it was original , i think not, :P so i guess i cnt really tk the credit or creation, though timing was perfect :)

but jokes apart, do we really seek perfection...we always keep saying oh, this would be so perfect, i wish this could be perfect , but do we really want things to be perfect? are we not always looking for something that has gone wrong somewhere?? i think we do, coz if we were really looking for perfection, then just like happiness, we can attain it as a state of mind, at any moment that is good, you can always, or at least sometimes choose to ignore the missing elements and say "ah! this is perfect" ...then why don't we ...or do we and i have just missed out on the observation part, i dont know about everyone, this isn't something that i have really observed a lot of people on, maybe because i have never, for as long as i can remember, wished or wanted anything to be perfect...i feel that perfection is boring and stagnant, because if you are perfect, you don't have anything else to become. you can't grow any better, so either you die of stagnation or start growing worse..so in that sense, may be perfection is even detrimental, its not a good thing to achieve, its just a very good thing to aspire to become,

perfection is like life, its the journey that matters, the end is already decided.

IF-1

If you think you are beaten, you are.

If you think you dare not, you don't!

If you like to win, but think you can't,

It's almost a cinch you won't.

you think you'll lose, you're lost;

For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will;

It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,

You've got to think high to rise,

You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger and faster man,

But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

---i read in school, guess it kind of holds :)
ok, so here's a question...what turns you off in someone .... the most common response I have ever heard to this one is "Hypocrites" .... I mean please!! give me a break!! who likes hypocrites? and yet, who isnt one?? tell me one person who doesn't lie, cheat, fake , one person who isn't a hypocrite and i'll tell you of a pig who flies!! havent you ever lied to your parents that u had extra classes and gone out for a movie? didnt you ever smile and swallowed an unedible piece of food some one made, just so you wouldnt hurt their feelings? didnt you ever tell your boss/clients
that you agree, when you couldnt disagree any more? didnt you pretend to be fine and put up a face, when inwards the only that kept you from screaming was the fact that you had company? ...

bottomline...everyone lies. everyone cheats. and yes, not saying anything may prevent you from lying, but that doesn't mean you are not cheating..you still are. coz someday, if the information you withheld is found out, it'll still inflict the similar kind of damage ...so why is it that we have such difficulty accepting it? why is it so hard for us to look deep within ourselves and admit, even to ourselves, our own shortcomings? and why is it that the only outlook with which we ever introspect, is to learn and improve...overcome our shortcomings..why?? why not for once can we accept ourselves the way we are, and feel ok with it?? but then , wouldnt that mean that being a psychopath was ok, that you could scrape the nails off people's bodies after murdering them and feel ok about it...well, i guess its once again about drawing a line, balancing things out, differentiating between right and wrong , good and bad, which are subjective for every person and yet governed by generic rules of the society, so that people may co-exist perhaps even happily..

so while you and your friends n family may accept your urge to get mad and scream at times, dont give your boss the chance to present you with a card to address management lessons ... ;)

Generation Gap??!!!

You Are Totally Like Your Mom

You and your mom are practically clones.
You think alike, and you even seem to read each other's minds.
You're definitely you're mother's child... and that's just fine with you.

God i so love my mother!!!
